MQA students earn sports awards

Four students from Mary Queen of Angels Regional Catholic School in Cheektowaga were recently honored for outstanding athletic achievements.

Third-grader Nolan Gorecki won the boy’s 60-meter dash at the All SITA (Southtowns Invitational Track Association) meet, while his older brother Ryan, an eighth-grader, was named the Male MVP Runner at the Hoebel League Championship track meet. Also at the Hoebel League Championship, fifth-grader Alexis Alvira earned Female MVP Runner honors.

In baseball, eighth-grader Chris Nowak was chosen to represent Mary Queen of Angels in the Parochial Baseball Association All-Star Game played at Coca-Cola Field in downtown Buffalo, home of the Buffalo Bisons.
