The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, a Western New York tradition featuring more than 30 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local products, is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine. Providing the entertainment at the open-air venue this week will be Pyromancy from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and pianist Robert Ritchie from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The market also welcomes several community groups this week, including Pet Connection Programs Inc., Assumption Church and Our Lady of Black Rock School, the Richmond Ashland National Register Historic District Initiative and Tapestry Charter School. Freedom Run Winery and Niagara Landing Wine Cellar will be offering wine-tasting.
A new Electronic Benefit Transfer system is in place at the market for the 2011 season. The EBT system allows individuals and families receiving public assistance to purchase products from eligible market vendors. Information is available every week at the market’s Elmwood Village tent.
