EBFM lists June 4th events

The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, a Western New York tradition featuring more than 30 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local products, is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine. Providing musical entertainment at the open-air venue this week will be singer/guitarist Kate Shaffer from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and the Hutch Tech Guitar Club from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The market also welcomes several community groups this week, including the Buffalo Animal Shelter, Art Alive 2011, Massachusetts Avenue Project and the Richmond Ashland National Register Historic District. Arrowhead Spring Vineyards and Leonard Oakes Estate Winery will be offering wine-tasting.

A new Electronic Benefit Transfer system is in place at the market for the 2011 season. The EBT system allows individuals and families receiving public assistance to purchase products from eligible market vendors. Information is available every week at the market’s Elmwood Village tent.
