The Elmwood-Bidwell Farmers Market, a Western New York tradition featuring more than 30 vendors selling fresh, seasonal and local products, is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. every Saturday, rain or shine. Providing musical entertainment at the open-air venue this week will be violinist Griffin Saiia.
The market also welcomes three local community groups that be distributing information about their organizations. Joining the market on May 21 will be representatives of GrowWNY.org, the Massachusetts Avenue Project and Crisis Services. Additionally, Liberty Vineyards & Winery and Leonard Oakes Estate Winery will be offering wine-tasting.
A new Electronic Benefit Transfer system is in place at the market for the 2011 season. The EBT system allows individuals and families receiving public assistance to purchase products from eligible market vendors.
