Dancing with the World in Amherst

On April 29th, the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Amherst, NY joined 150,000 dance studios throughout the world in a day long celebration of World Dance Day. Dancers were on the dance floor from 2-7:30 PM to express their love of dancing!

World Dance Day was established by the International Dance Council as a way to share the benefits of dance with members of the public. The event was originally scheduled to take place in the studio parking lot so that passersby could witness the beauty and joy of dancing. While the cool rainy weather prevented the dancers from dancing outside, the celebration of World Dance Day did continue inside the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. Throughout the day, dancers and members of the public were invited to enjoy hours of general dancing and mini dance workshops. Several people stopped in on their way to and from work to practice their moves, learn some new steps, and participate in all the fun!
