St. Ben's Celebratin Dr. Seuss' Birthday

Oh, The Places they Went Through Reading

Read Across America! - Principal Molly Halady of Saint Benedict School in Amherst brought the Cat in the Hat to school March 2 in celebration of Reading and the Birthday of Dr. Seuss. The National Education Association’s Read Across America is a nationwide celebration of reading. Read to succeed Buffalo coordinated with the national effort and organized over 92 sites and almost 9,000 children, including Saint Benedict School, to read a Dr. Seuss Book on this day. The Cat in the Hat read Oh, The Places You’ll Go to the entire school during their morning gathering. The fun continued in the Primary wing where the halls became filled with cats in red and white striped hats. Students were treated to cookies that looked like they could have jumped out of a Dr. Seuss book, and everyone enjoyed sharing the literary wit and talent of one of children's favorite authors through stories, crafts, games, inventions, the making of Ooblec and more. Said Thing One to Thing two about Saint Benedict School, “I wish we could stay here, this school’s really cool!”
