Students, faculty, staff and families at Mary Queen of Angels School in Cheektowaga are looking forward to Catholic Schools Week with great anticipation! Located at 160 Rosewood Terrace, the Pre-K through Grade 8 regional Catholic school serves children from Amherst, Buffalo, Cheektowaga, Depew, Sloan, West Seneca and Williamsville.
Catholic Schools Week will kick off with 6 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Jan. 29, at Queen of Martyrs Church. An ice cream social for Mary Queen of Angels students will take place in the school immediately following Mass.
Monday, Jan. 31, will be P.J. Day at the school. Due to a faculty meeting, students will have just a half-day of school on Jan. 31.
On Tuesday, Feb. 1, the school will host open house events from 9 to 11 a.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Both events are open to the public. Highlights of the open house include a tour of the school and a unique opportunity to view hands-on activities. Information on generous tuition and financial aid packages will also be available.
School activities on Wednesday, Feb. 2, will revolve around “Reading Buddies” and “Spirit Day.” Students are encouraged to wear blue and white.
An all-school Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 3, also known as “Catholic Teachers Rock Day!” And on Friday, Feb. 4, students can dress down in sports attire. The highlight of the day will be the teacher/faculty volleyball game!
Catholic Schools Week will conclude on Saturday, Feb. 5, with Family Movie Night in the school.
