Can you provide a good home for a Pet Connection puppy or kitten?

Pet Connection plans holiday events

Pet Connection Programs Inc. is counting on support from the generous residents of Western New York to make this a happy holiday season. Volunteers from the nonprofit maternity and special care animal shelter located in Marilla will be at several locations throughout Erie County in an effort to raise funds for the care of dozens of dogs and cats in need of loving homes.

Activities kick off on Black Friday as volunteers from the shelter will be selling their ever-popular pet totes filled with food, treats and toys at the Eastern Hills Mall, near Dave & Buster’s. The volunteers will return to the mall on three Saturday: Nov. 27, Dec. 11 and Dec. 18. Pups from the shelter will also be there to greet you!

Also on Black Friday, Pet Connection volunteers will be wrapping gifts and serving up homemade chili at the Tractor Supply Company store on Southwestern Boulevard in Hamburg. At that location on Saturday, Dec. 11, stop by with your kids or pets from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and have their photo taken with Santa! Proceeds from the event will benefit the shelter. Volunteers will also be at the Tractor Supply Company store on Saturday, Dec. 18 and Sunday, Dec. 19, wrapping your purchases for a small donation to the shelter. While at the store, grab a wish list ornament from Pet Connection’s special Christmas tree and make a product donation to the homeless animals.

Don’t forget to purchase your pre-sale tickets for Pet Connection’s Holiday Concert & Dinner Dance from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, at the Hearthstone Manor in Depew. Tickets are just $25 for the event, featuring musical entertainment by Jack Civiletto & The Pyramid Band! One lucky door prize winner will receive four one-day Disney hopper passes valued at $544. The event will also feature 50/50 raffles and a huge basket auction. Call 652-0192 today to order your tickets.

On Friday, Dec. 10, volunteers and puppies will visit one of Buffalo’s most historically significant buildings — the Larkin at Exchange Building — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Volunteers and their furry friends will be at the Walden Galleria in Cheektowaga from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on two Saturdays, Dec. 11 and 18. From tote bags filled with treats for dogs and cats to delicious baked goods, the volunteers from Pet Connection always have something great to sell!

Interested in becoming a Pet Connection volunteer? The next volunteer orientation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at the shelter. Pet Connection is located at 12935 Williston Road, Marilla. For more information, please call 652-0192, visit www.petconnectionprogramsinc.com or e-mail admin@petconnectionprogramsinc.com.

Looking to adopt? Adoption hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and noon to 2 p.m. Sunday.

And finally, the shelter is in serious need of a full-size van to transport rescued animals and supplies. If you can help make this Christmas miracle happen, please contact the shelter. Or, simply check out the wish list on Pet Connection’s website.

Thank you for your support — and happy holidays!
