Toy Testing for Lead

On Saturday, Oct. 27, from 9 am until 11 am, parents with children 6 years old and younger are invited to bring up to 5 toys or pieces of jewelry to this event, which is being held at the Old First Ward Community Center, 62 Republic St. in Buffalo.
Staff from Lead Connections, a HUD grant program administered by Environmental Education Associates, will check toys against the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s Toy Recall List and will test toys with a device used to determine the presence of lead.
Everyone is invited to attend and learn more about how children can come into contact with lead in homes and how to make homes lead-safe.
For more information, contact Lead Connections at (888) 436-8314. Ask for Alisa at ext. 125 or Patti at ext. 184.
