Maybe you have seen us in a Holloween costume contest in the Western New York area. Well for pretty much, since I was 17 years old, until now(I am now 53) for the last 36 years, I have been dressing up, and playing the part of Frankenstein. I don't know why I chose the Holloween Horror Icon, but it just seemed to fit my height, and surely once I was dressed, I was transformed into the terrifying monster that has been known throughout the years as the original monster of th silver screen, who was played by Boris Carloff. I have won every costume contest I have ever entered. It was in the mid 1980's, that I went to the annual Memorial Auditorium Holloween Buffalo Sabres game, where they had a costume contest there, and was told by one of the judges(who came up to me) that I had the best costume, but they had to award the grand prize of a trip to a couple that was dressed up. I still had won a prize as a finalist but was in a way disappointed that I was told that by the judge knowing I was actually the best. When I went home, I immediately told my wife what happened, and said to her we needed to do something about going as a couple. Well, the following year, we did go as Frankenstein and the Bride of Frankenstein, were out on the ice as one of the 10 finalists, and they announced that we won the grand prize. We then started going to all of the Holloween costume contest's dressed the same way, and most of the contests(bars, restaurants, local boat cruises, skating rinks, and even our children's school) had their own way of awarding the prize for the best costume, sometimes we won as a couple, and sometmes I won it alone. I do have to let you know I NEVER EVER get out of charcter until the contests are over, and the winner is chosen. More recently, I do not know how many of you out there read the Forever Young Publication, but, I entered their photo contest, and won it. It was for the October issue, and it was announced in that issue, as well in the Editor's note section. I am very proud of the fact that when people se me in character, I am still looked at in horror, and disbelief. People have asked my wife while we were in costume, "is that all him?" and she tells them yes, with the question asker looking in wonder. I don't know how long we will continue to pose as the famous pair, but we are still having fun doing it.Thanks for taking the time to read. respectfully submitted, Thomas E. Wilczak
