Colors (and weather) they are a changin'

STORM TREE (Sweetgum Tree)

A little bit of color on a gloomy day. From seed collected in October 2006,this is one of my sweetgum trees(Liquidamber Styracifua)changing into it's fall colors. It's the offspring of trees damaged in the surprise October storm of 2006.That would make this year it's fourth autumn.Fun fact:Sweetgum trees are quite variable in size, shape,& height.Even there leaves can be very different from tree to tree. From very star shaped,or like this tree more maple leaf like.Pic taken on 9.26.10-By Russell Granata
