Anglewing butterfly (Bridget Blytherfly)

Along with her two brothers,Bridget hatched from her egg on memorial day,& emerged from her chrysalis on 6.25.10.bridget is a question mark anglewing butterfly.One of the chief larval food plants of the question mark caterpillar is elm.Adults prefer to feed on sap & dung,rather than nectar.Second generation anglewings hibernate as adults in winter.Fun fact:Anglewings are one of many cousins of the migratory monarch butterfly.Bridget & her brothers were set free on 6.25.10,a couple of hours after emerging from there chrysalises.Photo by Russell Granata,Buffalo.
