The familiar greenhouses at Transit and Millersport are about to undergo a major change.

Jody Chesko, President of Niagara Produce is overseeing an eleven million dollar project. It includes a new store and greenhouses for the business that's been in her family for 53 years.

Jody's father, Richard Dorr started shining apples at Niagara Produce when he was 12. He bought the place when he was 18. Now, he's counting on his daughter to keep it going.

Chesko began her career as an translator at Disney World. She met and married her husband there and three children followed. The whole family came back to WNY in 1999, but then, a sudden loss. Jody's husband died of a heart attack at age 42.

Chesko now keeps busy making big plans for the new store, and she is serving as an inspiration to other women, encouraging them to take on leadership roles even after loss.

"I hope that I can be an example for other women," said Chesko. "No matter what happens to you, you can rise above it and you can continue on."
