Eyewitness News is partnering with the Buffalo - Niagara Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners on monthly reports, featuring local women in leadership positions.

We profile successful owners or working women who excel at what they do, while giving back to the community.

This month features Buffalo daycare provider, Felicia Doctor.

Felicia turned her love for kids into a thriving corporation. She runs two day care centers in the city, deciding to open her own business after spending 17 years in banking and collections.

Felicia never imagined how quickly the business would grow. Eight years into it, she now has almost 70 children under her wing.

An amazing story of success, especially because Felicia was a high school dropout who had her first three kids without a husband.

She earned her GED and is married now with two more children in the family.

My Precious Angels Day Care is geared toward inner city families. It's open from 6:15 in the morning until 11pm.

It also provides transportation for families who don't have their own, and the day care center doesn't just babysit, it's preparing kids to start school.

Felicia's goal is to provide the same quality care that you find in the suburbs.
