Soaker of a Friday! And there's more rain on the way

Not the kind of weather anybody wants to start their weekend on.

It's been an absolute damper all across Western New York the past few days. After all, we're used to sunny skies and warm temperatures. Not grey, cool and wet typical October weather!

The Southern Tier has been getting drenched since Thursday. Some parts of Cattaraugus, Allegany, McKean and Potter county have already seen total rainfall estimates exceed two inches. And there's more on the way for you folks living along I-86.

The further north you go, the less rainfall you have received over the past couple of days. Not to say that Niagara and Orleans County isn't damp. But you folks have seen less of the moderate to heavy rain. Unlike McKean County, where it has been raining buckets over at times.

Unfortunately, the rain sticks around throughout the remainder of Friday. The low pressure to our south that is showering Western New York with rain will start to move further to our east later on Friday afternoon. Showers will eventually wind down once we get past the dinner our.

By the end of the day, the Southern Tier could see another 1-2" of rain. Still a little less once you get to Niagara County.

Cooler air on the back side of the low will spark off some Lake Effect Rain Showers for Saturday. Not a washout by any means. Most of the showers will remain into Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties.

And if you were hoping for 80s to return to Western New York, you may just have to wait until next year.
