BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) The UK Pig Association is predicting a worldwide bacon shortage in 2013.

The summer drought is to blame and it means your next trip to the butcher or grocery store meat department could cost you.

Prices of beef have risen about a dollar this year. Ground beef prices are up about 50 cents, said Mark Redlinksi, owner of Redlinski Meats.

"I don't know how much higher they can take. I hope they don't become vegetarians," he said.

"My profit margin was way down at the end of last summer because it was going up by two, three-cents a week and I was letting it slide," Redlinski added.

But he may soon have no choice but to raise prices, which means your holiday ham or turkey could cost you more this season.
