BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The issue is dealing with one looming question. Where will Clarence based Chris Collins decide to set up his main local office?

Some say it should not be anywhere near Erie County.

Here's why. Taking a look at the map of the newly created 27th district, Erie County is included, but so are seven other counties.

The center of this district is Genesee County and officials there urging the congressman elect to put his main headquarters in Batavia.

According to the Batavia Daily News, leaders say it will help Collins connect with Rochester and some of the rural areas where he is not as well known.

Collins addressed that issue after his election Tuesday.

"I've got to do a job in the next two years introducing myself out in the area near Rochester where they don't know me," said Collins.

If Collins chose to work in Batavia he would be no more than an hour drive to any area he represents. Collins says he is working with his staff to figure out what works best for him.

He also says that he is going to look at where congressional offices have been held historically. Collins may even consider scattering offices across the entire district.
