BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Some of us will be staying home this week, as the region gets pounded by a lake effect snow storm.

Others are trying to get home, navigating through delays and cancellations at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport.

Mary Yaworsky and her daughter spent the holiday in Ellicottville and are trying to get back to Ft. Lauderdale.

"We were supposed to leave on Friday and they called and said the flight was delayed," she said.

So they tried again Sunday night.

Ice, high winds, low temperatures and snow. We are going to see all of the above during the next several days.

Aigner Bazunu was stocking up at Budwey's grocery store on Kenmore Ave. in Buffalo.

"I got some meat, I got some chips. I'm going to make a big stew tonight because I plan on being in my home and hanging out with just me and Netflix," she said.
