BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Channel 7's Ed Reilly had the opportunity to travel to Washington D.C. with a special group of local World War Two and Korean War veterans, as they visited the Nation's war memorials in their honor.

The group included over two dozen World War II and Korean War veterans now aged in their 80's and 90's.

Around the country, groups work to arrange "Honor Flights" to thank older veterans for their service to the country.

For many of the WNY veterans, it was their first time to see the World War II and Korean War memorials.

The free trip was organized by New York Senator George Maziarz and was supported with donations from Walmart, Mulvey Construction in Lockport, USA Niagara, and Health System Services in Wheatfield.
