Rochester, N.Y. (WKBW) Vice President Joe Biden is now leading an effort to make sure community colleges have the types of programs and training available that is needed for the advanced technology jobs of the 21st century.

Wednesday, Biden and his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, visited the Applied Technologies Center at Monroe Community College where they spoke about the need to better incorporate community college curriculum with employers needs.

While also speaking in support of raising the Federal minimum wage and guaranteeing equal pay for woman, the Vice President said the time has come to expand apprenticeship programs and give high school students more exposure to vocational careers.

The Biden's stop in Rochester is the first of many across the country, and it comes after President Obama announced during his State of the Union address that he wanted to reform the Nation's workforce development programs.
