BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Buffalo Women and Children's Hospital received a big boost from the Variety Kids Telethon Tuesday.

The hospital received $50,000 check from the charity, which is going towards neonatal transplant equipment used for moving newborns in need of critical care.

"Although we don't like to think about the purpose of this unit, the end result is remarkable because it saves so many babies lives," said Diane Kuciel of the Variety Club.

Women and Children's Hospital has the largest neonatal intensive care unit in the region.
