BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - With steady gas prices and the nice weather, more people are gearing up to hit the road this Labor Day weekend.

According to AAA, about 3 million more people than last year will be hitting the road for the long weekend, nearly a 10 percent increase over 2009.

While the majority of travelers are expected to hit the roads, the airlines are expecting to see a slight increase in passengers over the holiday weekend as well.

AAA also adds that travelers will probably spend about $50 more this holiday over last, but will not go as far, with the average trip this Labor Day expected to be about 635 miles.
