Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW) - City officials announced that they have selected a contractor for Buffalo's Car Sharing Main Street Project, in what is known as the theatre district.

A company out of Niagara Falls will take on the $6.3 million from Tupper Street to Chippewa Street. They are taking into consideration the businesses already there, hoping to help them grow. They also want to bring other businesses to the area.

"I think it'll help attract a big variety of businesses back down here," Buffalo Resident Daniel Truitt said.

No everyone is happy with the project.

"There will be more traffic. It'll be harder to get to school, harder to get to the theatres and stuff like that," Buffalo Resident Janely Font said.

Construction is expected to start this September and be completed by fall of next year.
