ELMA, NY (WKBW/RELEASE) - This week, 22 teens from various school districts across Western New York will spend 5 days with local law enforcement at Camp Centerland in Elma. The Sheriff/Youth Live In Program is a collaborative effort between the National Federation For Just Communities of Western New York & the Erie County Sheriff's Department.

According to organizers, the camp brings a diverse group of teens to create a positive exposure to local law enforcement officials. The program seeks to eliminate the negative stereotypes police officers and youth hold about each other. The camp runs until August 10th.
