Second Person Killed in Clarence Center Fire

CLARENCE CENTER, N.Y. (WKBW) - A second person is dead following a fire on Goodrich Road in Clarence Center Sunday night.

Responders found 45-year-old Charles Deppa in the living room the home around 9 p.m. Sunday. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

51-year-old Denise Hackrott was found unconscious in a bedroom and was taken to ECMC where she later died.

State police tell Eyewitness News the fire was ruled as accidental, saying:

"The State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation examined the scene in an effort to determine the cause of the fire. Investigators found the origin in the kitchen and have deemed the fire as accidental, due to an unattended stove."
