Saying Goodbye to Charlie Smith

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Charlie Smith, an engineer here at Channel 7 for 39 years, is retiring.

Charlie's last day is Friday. He has been with our station since 1974.

Charlie has been there for many historic events covered by Eyewitness News. Since the days of Irv Weinstein, Rick Azar, and Tom Jolls, Charlie has been a part of our family for many historic events.

From Nik Wallenda walking over Niagara Falls, to Buffalo Bills QB Jim Kelly's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and President Barack Obama's visit to Western New York.

All of us at Channel 7 want to wish Charlie the best! Enjoy this next chapter in your life!

We'll Miss You Charlie!!
