Buffalo, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) Tuesday marked the deadline for new registration requirments under the SAFE Act, but local gun activists say they plan to break the law.

Outside of the State Office Building in Buffalo, they shredded registration forms, in opposition of the law.

The law requires owners of any gun deemed an assault weapon by the state to be registered. It also makes it unlawful to sell, transfer or purchase these weapons in the state.
