BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A beloved local teacher's cancer battle was made more difficult by the new year.

Kim Sweet's health benefits ended at the close of 2013, and now her loved ones and friends are determined to prove she's not fighting this battle alone.

Called Kim's Krusaders, the group is organizing a fund raiser to be held on January 26th from 2-7pm at the Harvey D. Morin VFW Post, 965 Center Road, West Seneca.

Tickets cost $25 for the event that features live entertainment, food, raffles, and a silent auction.

Donations can also be mailed to the Kim Sweet Fund at M&T Bank at the Southgate Plaza, West Seneca, NY
