Project Hope: Educating People About Prescription Painkiller Abuse

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - There's a drug epidemic in Western New York, but there's a may have some of these drugs right on the shelf of your medicine cabinet.

A major campaign to educate people about prescription painkiller abuse, called Project Hope, kicks off today.

The campaign brings together dozens of groups from across the area. It's main target is preventing teens and college students from falling into the trap of abusing painkillers.

A multimedia blitz is planned for Project Hope, with Channel 7 among the partners broadcasting a documentary.
