TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY (WKBW)- Detectives are now investigating a string of burglaries and attempted break-ins in the Town of Tonawanda Deerhurst Park Neighborhood. The burglaries and attempted break-ins began on August 14th during the day at homes on Louvaine Drive and Hartford Avenue. Then Thursday morning, residents on Colvin and Deerhurst Park Boulevards awoke to their homes ransacked. The suspects took off with a large box of makeup, Sterling Silver, computer games, money and DVDs.
"Three of the five burglaries were overnight attempts," said Town of Tonawanda Lieutenant Nicholas Bado. "The suspect tried or gained entry through a rear window that was open. All they had to do was cut or remove the screen."
Bado says residents will see an increase in patrols throughout the neighborhood. Evidence collected at the houses are also being analyzed at this time.
