Pedestrian Killed, Car Into House

Buffalo Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened on the city's east side at around 12:15 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

Fire and police responded to the 200 block of Walden Avenue near Barthel Street. According to police an Orchard Park man in his 30's was driving a car when he somehow veered off the road, hit a street sign, then ran over a woman who was walking near the curb.

The driver then plowed straight into a house. The pedestrian, a woman in her 40's, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Paramedics transported the driver to ECMC and he is expected to survive his injuries. No one else was hurt in the crash.

Investigators have not released the names of anyone involved in the accident and no charges have been filed at this time.
