BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) Univera Healthcare from Buffalo is acting as a test-partner for New York State as they prepare to fully activate the State's online health insurance exchange.

As part of the Affordable Care Act, also referred to as "Obamacare," all Americans will be required to be covered by a health insurance plan by 2014.

For those with no insurance, and small businesses, online exchanges will act as a one-stop shop where insurance carriers, coverage, and cost can be compared.

"It will act similar to travel websites like Expedia and Priceline," commented Art Wingerter, president of Univera Health.

The online site will also allow low-income people to see how much of a subsidy they can expect to receive in helping pay the monthly premiums.
