Man Shot in Car Driven to Hospital-Updated

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -

Updated-The victim from last night's shooting near Walden Avenue and Ivy is 18 year old Tyrell Brown of Buffalo. He is listed in critical condition at ECMC.

The incident happened just after 8:30pm Wednesday night.
Detectives say the victim was sitting in a car when he was struck.
Buffalo Police Homicide Detectives are in charge of the investigation.

Buffalo homicide detectives are searching for a gunman who they say walked up to a parked vehicle in the city Wednesday night and opened fire, striking a passenger in the car.

Police were called to the corner of Walden and Ivy on the city's east side just after 8:30 p.m.

Brown was rushed to the hospital by the driver of the car, police said.

That vehicle, a white Lincoln Town Car, was being searched by police for evidence at Erie County Medical Center.

The gunman escaped on foot, according to witnesses at the scene.
