Local Soldier in Good Condition Following Fort Hood Shootings

ALLEGANY, N.Y. (WKBW) Eyewitness News has learned that a local soldier wounded during the Fort Hood shootings on Wednesday is now in good condition following two surgeries.

Sources tell WKBW-TV that US Army Major Patrick Miller, a native of Allegany, NY, was shot in the abdomen during the rampage that saw Spc. Ivan Lopez kill three people and wound sixteen with a .45-caliber handgun.

Lopez killed himself after the shootings.

Major Patrick Miller is a graduate of Allegany-Limestone High School, Saint Bonaventure University, and Syracuse University.

According to his FACEBOOK page, he served tours of duty overseas including Iraq.
