DUNKIRK, N.Y (WKBW) It was predicted that the southern shoreline areas of Lake Erie could see a significant storm surge as winds from Hurricane Sandy blew into Western New York.
As it turned out, the storm was less powerful locally than originally expected, but it did cause problems in the Dunkirk area.
Several trees were blown down and parts of Route 60 in the Town of Pomfret were flooded.
