AMHERST, NY (WKBW) - Time is running out to get that perfect costume before you head out trick-or-treating or to a Halloween party. But just how much money are people willing to shell out to make a haunting impression?
It's no doubt all the creepy crawly and creative costume ideas you have will probably make the grim reaper turn over in his grave.
This year the National Retail Federation says Americans will shell out about $80 for decorations and costumes which is a slight increase over last year and some will even tip that tombstone.
Michael Dennis from Tonawanda, says he planning to spend at least a couple of hundred dollars this Halloween.
After getting the perfect costume many people are planning to head to haunted houses like Frightworld in Amherst where the $23 cost of admission isn't scaring people away.
