BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A last-ditch effort to save Holy Angels Academy was shut down by the school's Board of Trustees.
A group called Save Holy Angels had presented a plan to the academy to keep the school open and pay back the nuns who donated from their own pensions.
The board and the nuns however agreed that it wasn't the best move because there weren't enough details in the proposal.
"The whole process has been a joint process between the Grey Nuns and the board of trustees," said Maureen Maguire, Board of Trustees. "The decision was made jointly, so I'd like to make that very very clear. We didn't feel there were enough specifics or enough assurances in the proposal taht we could in good conscience give the girls hope and then perhaps it might work or might not work."
In all, Save Holy Angels would have needed to raise $2.5 Million.
