BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - While Rodney Dockery was waiting outside Westminster Charter School, to pick up his six-year-old granddaughter Kamera, he noticed thick smoke and then flames tearing through a first floor classroom.

"I watched all the kids come out and they all came out in an orderly fashion. Teachers did a great job getting them out," he said.

More than 150 children attending the school's summer session and at least ten staff members evacuated the building just as Buffalo firefighters arrived.

"Great job was done evacuating the kids," said Buffalo Fire Commissioner Garnell Whitfield. "Everybody is out. Everybody is accounted for. The students and adults did a great job evacuating the kids."

There is no word yet on a cause. Damage is estimated at $275,000. The remainder of the summer session, which was scheduled to end on Friday has been canceled.

Westminster is still running its Canisius for Kids field trip on Tuesday at 9 a.m.
