Fatal Shooting in Buffalo Sunday Night

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Police respond to a shooting late Sunday night. Authorities said a man was shot just after 10 p.m. near the intersection of East Ferry and Moselle Street.

Witnesses said the man was shot directly in the head. Police believe he fled by foot after he was shot. He died minutes later in the alleyway next to the East Ferry Coin Laundromat.

The victim is in his early 50's and he is nicknamed "Popeye". Authorities are not releasing his real identity at this time.

Authorities in the Ferry-Fillmore district said they have no motive. They also have no description of the suspect except that they know he left on foot. If you have any information about the incident call the Buffalo Police Confidential Tip Line at 847-2255.
