Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - The FCC wants to lift blackouts of football games.

It first created the rule 40 years ago, to boost live attendance at football games. However, the agency says the market place has changed, and many people cannot afford tickets or physically get to games.

The National Football League is taking a different stance. It says blackouts remains crucial in selling tickets and creating an exciting atmosphere on gameday.
