Elmwood Village Home Suffers $450K Damage in Fire

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Two Buffalo firefighters suffered minor injuries battling a massive house fire on 800 block of Elmwood Avenue, in the heart of the Elmwood Village.

Flames broke out just before 6:30 p.m. Heavy, black smoke could be seen rising in the sky from the I-190/I-290 interchange in Tonawanda.

The home was destroyed. Firefighters estimate damage at $450,000.

The three-unit apartment house was home to four people, all of whom are being assisted by the American Red Cross.

The cause is still under investigation. No one was hurt.
