Niagara Falls, N.Y. (WKBW) - St. James Methodist Church went through major renovations. Now, it is completed and organizers recently opening the doors to the Little Wonders Daycare.

"With the high school so close we decided what can we do to help our neighbors next doo," Director Rose Lynch said.

Tierra Jones sends her two-year-old daughter, Heaven, to the daycare program.

"I love this daycare because I don't have to worry about her. I know she is safe and that she is fed," Jones said.

Tierra is now 17. She said having a baby changed her life. Although it was a miracle, she had many challenges and doubts about her education. Now, she is ready to take on school, a job and raising beautiful little girl.

"You get to stay in school and you don't have to drop out. It's a better future for you and your child," Jones said.

Tierra's mother was caring for Heaven for a long time. She was also faced some hard times, not being able to find a job. Now, things are much different with a little help.

"I enjoy having Heaven come to this daycare because Tierra is in school and it frees me up to be able to look for work," mom Cynthia Jones said.

The daycare is just across the school parking lot. It not only cares for little kids but they also have an after-school program for older students. A student-mentoring program is also available. Their enrollment is increasing but they have room for many more students and their children who need support in more ways than one.

"As the school year comes to an end and next September comes around, we are obviously going to increase in all of our aspects of collaboration with the high school," Lynch said.
