BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - A concern for parents is making sure their kids are where they're supposed to be, when they're supposed to be. A new smart device allows to you to keep track of their location and put your mind at ease.

Trax is a small GPS tracker allowing parents to locate their children and pet owners locate their animal. Through an app, Trax can be located nearly anytime from almost anywhere. Trax has a built-in sensor that measures speed and direction, and provides the positions when GPS signal is lost. It also alerts you through push notifcation if it's dropped or exceeds a certain speed.

The Trax app alerts you as soon as your loved one has moved too far away from you or into an area they shouldn't be. It also provides you with valuable information and alerts on battery level, distance, and has a social check-in feature like Facebook.

Trax can be carried in your child's pocket or book bag, but can also be attached using a clip or lanyard. For your pet, the makers behind Trax produced a custom fitted holder for pet collars.

Trax lets you relax and be assured your loved one is safe.

For a pledge of $149 on their KickStarter page or website, you will receive the Trax tracker, which is expected to ship in June.
