WEST SENECA, NY (WKBW) Thursday’s late afternoon crash landing at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport has many would-be-flyers afraid to get on a plane.

Aviation experts say a power loss or stall can happen on any aircraft for a number of different reasons.

Kevin Balys of KGB Aviation Solutions in West Seneca works with black box software, studying the how and the why.

The data software on airplanes can track and pin-point exactly when something goes wrong.

Larger, commercial airlines can lose power, but since they are bigger, they are equipped with backup engines to handle a stall.
