Business First: Cost Effective School Districts

Voters are hitting the polls in many area school districts today as budget battles are ongoing.
Taxpayers want to get the most bang for their buck. The Lancaster Central School District provides that.

Business First is out with cost-effectiveness ratings for school districts across WNY. Researchers divided academic scores by spending for the list.

They say Lancaster spends less than any other school district in the eight-county region: just under $13,000 per pupil. Yet Lancaster ranks ninth in this year's academic rankings, which are based on New York State test scores.

Here's a look at the most cost-effective school districts:
1. Lancaster
2. Clarence
3. Williamsville
4. Frontier
5. East Aurora
