There is a building boom in the works in WNY. In downtown Buffalo alone, there's more than $1.5 billion in projects underway or in the pipeline. A report in this week's Business First looks at what's fueling development. The report says there is a perfect economic development storm: where demand, opportunity and marketing are all coming together. Developers are showing confidence and the public sector is showing support. For example, in less than a year, the Buffalo Sabres' Harbor Center has gone from a drawing to reality. That project is worth $172 million. Development is getting attention from outsiders and it makes WNY an easier sell to more developers and businesses. You can find a chart highlighting projects across WNY in this week's Business First.

Being a pro football player sounds like an awesome career to many, but what do you do in life after football? That's the focus of a report in this week's Business First. It shows how Buffalo Bills linebacker Arthur Moats is on another team besides the Bills: he's interning with the University at Buffalo athletic department academic advisement team. Moats just finished his political science degree. The report says the NFL would like to see more players prepping for post football life.
