DEPEW, NY (WKBW) - Members of the Buffalo Teachers Federation held an emergency closed-door meeting at the Hearthstone Manor on Dick Road Thursday night to discuss the latest proposal from Buffalo Public Schools on the controversial matter of teacher evaluations.

An agreement between the union and district must be submitted to Albany by the end of the business on Thursday, otherwise Buffalo stands to forfeit $9 million in aid. The plan must be sent to state education officials Thursday, but teachers will still have several days to evaluate it before a vote.

The latest agreement was negotiated between the union and district for several hours late Thursday afternoon.

Teachers will vote on the plan on Tuesday.
