BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Buffalo RiverWorks, a $50 million project, just cleared another hurdle with the Buffalo Planning Board.
By next summer, this former industrial site will be the newest attraction on Buffalo's waterfront.
"It'll be anything from an events center to an amateur athletic facility, bar and restaurant, brew pub, we're going to have theatrical performances, banquets, weddings, trade shows," said Buffalo RiverWorks President Doug Swift.
Some of the nearby industrial companies complained to the city, that RiverWorks would not be a good fit for the neighborhood, citing safety concerns. But the Buffalo Planning Board approved the project, saying those concerns were unfounded.
