BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - Buffalo School District Superintendent Pamela Brown is under fire for hiring a new public relations manager at a six-figure salary.
This happening just as the cries to oust Brown from her position are starting to heat up.
School Board member Carl Paladino is voicing concerns over a recent hiring decision from superintendent Pamela Brown.
Lorey Schultz has been contracted to handle public relations for the school district at a salary of $115, 000.
Schultz is a former local television news reporter who has been working in the communications department for Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
Paladino says it is an unnecessary position, especially since the district already employs Elana Cala to handle the school's public relations issues.
She makes $82,000 a year.
Because this position was not in this year's budget, the school board must approve the hire before it is made official.
