Attempted Abduction in Amherst

Amherst, NY (WKBW)- A Buffalo man remains at the Erie County Holding Center following an incident in Amherst Tuesday. 36-year-old Jenon Morris was arrested and charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Harassment, and traffic violations after police say he tried to lure a teen into his car. Amherst Police say a 15-year-old girl was walking down Mill Street near Eagle Street when she noticed a suspicious car drive pass her several times. The driver, allegedly 36-year-old Jenon Morris, then approached the teen. The 15-year-old was able to get away and report the incident to nearby officers who were assisting with the Old Home Days on Main Street in the Village of Williamsville. Police were able to locate Morris a short time later on Sheridan Drive. He's being held on $5,000 bail and will be back in court July 22nd.
